Thoroughly kiln dried to prevent warping or cracking in the widely varying temperatures around a fireplace, each piece of wood is carefully crafted into shape and the completed mantel expertly sanded by hand. Where a stain is required, your mantel will be treated with a semi-gloss lacquer, again with hand-sanding between coats, to produce a depth of finish and character of grain which marks out these excellent surrounds.
